The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns visit the USC Trojans on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 at 11 p.m. ET from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. Louisiana moved to 1-0 by beating Lamar 38-7, and USC is 2-0, most recently a 39-0 win over Fresno State.

USC’s passing game has been the story through two games. Quarterback Jayden Maiava has thrown for 635 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, and the Trojans’ defense has allowed just 13 points total.

Louisiana has leaned on defense in its opener. Quarterback Lunch Winfield has thrown for 189 yards with two interceptions, while the Ragin’ Cajuns’ defense held Lamar to 7 points as the offense scored 38.

The Trojans are 30.5-point favorites over the Ragin’ Cajuns at DraftKings, with a total of 59.5 and a moneyline of -11111 for the Trojans and +2450 for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Below, we’ll give you all the details you need to know about how to watch this game.

    Players to Watch

USC enters 2-0 with one of the most efficient passing attacks in the country, and Maiava is at the center of it. He has thrown for 635 yards and five touchdowns without an interception through two games, and the Trojans’ 88.1% completion rate is the highest mark in the nation this season. That kind of accuracy sets up a difficult night for a Louisiana defense that gave up 189 passing yards and two interceptions of its own quarterback in a much lower-scoring opener. If Maiava keeps operating at that completion rate, USC has a clear path to another lopsided night at the Coliseum.

Mosley has been the primary beneficiary of USC’s precision passing game, totaling 222 receiving yards and three touchdowns through two games. He gives Maiava a proven big-play target against a Louisiana secondary that will be facing one of the nation’s most accurate quarterbacks for the first time this season. With the Trojans already blowing out two opponents by a combined 39-0 and 42-26 score, Mosley’s continued production would keep USC’s offense humming early. His touchdown total alone makes him the clearest weapon to watch in this matchup.

Louisiana is a heavy underdog on the road, and Winfield’s dual-threat ability gives the Ragin’ Cajuns their best chance to stay competitive against USC. He threw for 189 yards with two interceptions but also added 84 yards on the ground in a win over Lamar, showing his legs can create offense even when the passing numbers are uneven. That balance matters against a USC defense that will be significantly more talented than what Louisiana saw in its opener. Protecting the ball will be critical, since turnovers against an explosive Trojans offense could turn this into a much bigger margin.

Smith provided the finishing touches on the ground for Louisiana in its season-opening win over Lamar, scoring twice. That short-yardage production gives the Ragin’ Cajuns a way to manufacture points even if their passing game struggles against a USC defense that has already limited two opponents to a combined 26 points across two games. If Smith can find the end zone again, Louisiana has a path to stay on the scoreboard against a heavily favored Trojans team. His role also becomes more important given the uncertainty around Louisiana’s receiving corps heading into this game.
